Colby College is a private liberal arts college located in Waterville, ME. Founded in 1813, it is the 12th-oldest independent liberal arts college in the United States. Together with Bates College and Bowdoin College, (also Welch Sign customers) Colby is one of three highly selective liberal arts colleges in Maine. The 2015 annual ranking of U.S. News & World Report categorizes it as 'most selective' and rates it tied for the 15th best liberal arts college in the nation.
Our relationship with Colby College began in 1997, and since then we have worked closely with the university’s design, project management and facilities teams as well as their Development Department. As an integral part of the Colby team, we have utilized our skills in design facilitation, product development, project management, fabrication and installation to augment a variety of built environment visuals that have enhanced the visitor experience, reinforced the brand and honored donors.
Projects have included a variety of sign types for Residential Living, Health Center, Fitness Center, Stadium, Bookstore, Dining Hall, Library, Student Union, Art Studio, Art Museum, Alumni Center and Science Building.
